The Climbing Team

For those of you outside the greater Yellowstone Region. The climbing team was featured in today's Outdoor section of the Billings Gazette.

It took me two years to forget how much fun the approach to California Ice was. Kenny and I went up Saturday, Yup, it's still a beartooth blast! A good long day out, with some spicy weather to finish off the day.

Here's the only photo that really turned out from our tromping around in december trying to do nothing. We started hiking at midnight with only a couple hours sleep between us. We learned to get more sleep for the next time out.

Lame December and the Year in Review

I am now running with the new version of Blogger. Watch for aesthetic changes.

December of 2006 was laced with illness and the holidays. In terms of climbing there was a whole lot of hiking and very little climbing. Twice we went in, only to turn around. I have been and will be coaching the local climbing team for the next few months. I can say the kids have improved quite a bit from day one. Looking back at 2006 I can think of a couple routes to highlight.

Update

Currently in the middle of updating the site template and software. Hope to have it finished sometime this week. Made a run on a big route in the beartooths on Saturday, but came up short this time around. Will post a photo later this week. Hope all is well.

Moab to Lake Powel

Last week Anya and I floated the Colorado River from Moab to Lake Powell. 112 miles Through Canyonlands National Park, past the confluence with the Green River, and over the 28 rapids of Cataract Canyon. These are mostly "trip ambience" photos, I'll post some whitewater action shots at a later date.
