Heat Wave

Like my Julys of years past, the heat has beaten down, leaving us to abandon goals till autumn, or at least August. For those of you that were here before the fourth, you had it nice. We hit triple digits every day. Not like we're up to nothing out here. Got in some whitewater, took in a show, and got my paws on a little rock.

Shy bands like to play here so they know the audience isn't looking at them. The climbing looked good too, if it wasn't 109 degrees.

We climbed the left tower, indirectly getting to the base via three moderate pitches we later found out we could have hiked around. It was a long day.

We were planning to climb up around Mystic Lake over the weekend but oddly occuring blisters got the better of my feet. At least the sun came out for the hike down on sunday.

On the Sharp End of Things

After two years of leading ice Anya finally comes to her senses and gives trad leading a try up on the rims.

Another year, another day on the Ramp.

Running up the 3rd pitch. New camera, seems to grab colors better than the last one, plus its goes w i d e 28mm vs the standard 36mm, or about 10 more degrees of view angle. We'll see how it works out.
